Hey buddy.  I just wanted to tell you I'm staying with the Grubbs.  I'm going home tomorrow (Sunday) but I've been here since Tuesday.  It's been quite the experience, but suffice it to say there's much to say about having a nurse keep you in line.  And it being Trish there's never a dull moment.

I won't be going to CA with the credit union.  The doctor says no flying for three months.  I'm pretty bummed about it but he's right.  There's no way I will be ready in three weeks even though I'm doing pretty well.  I have to take 5 five minute walks each day and I have a series of lower body exercises to do three times a day.  I'm going to ask my PT about some arm exercises because I need arm strength to use the walker.  I feel really good about this surgery and I think I'll be on my way to a complete recovery.

Not long until you get home. At least it's closer than before.  There will be a lot of happy family including Alex when the time comes. It will be a great delayed Christmas present.  I love you and I'm so proud of you.

I haven't posted in a while so I thought I should give you a bunch of pictures to look at. They are all just random pictures but I thought you might enjoy them!

Italian Cream Cake

Strawberry Shortcake Cake

Relaxing with his legs crossed watching (What Else?) Baseball.

This was the smash cake for his first birthday!

We found this sea turtles nest last time we were at the beach. Hopefully they haven't hatched yet, maybe they will this week while we are down their!

I love his rat tail in this picture. I am thinking about braiding it...

Oh, the fun he has with Crayons...

I was in the living room and heard him calling me "Mah!" "Mah!" and I walked by the stairs and saw this...

He and Crawford at the Dash Baseball game! He loves to go and watch them play!

I got Coleman this place mat that you can color on with these special crayons and then you just wipe it off. It is of a firetruck and it lists all the different parts of the truck. So Ryan and Coleman colored the other night...

Here Coleman is pointing out the parts of the truck to Ryan.

Here they both discovered that this is an inaccurate placemat. Apparently they didn't give a piece of equipment the right name. Look at the horror on Coleman's face.

These next few pictures crack me up. Coleman decides to taste a crayon. Don't worry, these are Non Toxic.
Let me see that for a second Pops...

Hmm... looks yummy...

Maybe just a quick taste...

Here Dad, wanna try the red one?

Coleman, Avery and I took a trip to Ryan's new station to see him and I forgot to take pictures of Coleman and Ryan but I did get some cute ones of my front seat passenger.

I made Mom a hummingbird cake for her birthday. I was making it with Crawford and Caroline and let
them each take turns dumping ingredients into the cake batter. When we got to the pecans Crawford took them and asked "Are these for the beak? You know, the thing that goes on the end of the hummingbird's nose!" He is so funny!

Just some pictures from the front yard.

These hydrangea bushes are from the wedding and one around the corner are from Coleman's baby shower. They are just now starting to bloom good.

My massive ORGANIC garden. Ryan gave me a hard time about trying to grow a completely organic garden, he said it would never grow. Before I planted it I mixed in some dirt from cleaning out the chicken coop and, there you have it ladies and gentleman. My huge garden! Hey before you judge, that is what organic fertilizer is when you go to buy it in the store. The only difference is, mine is free they charge around $15 for a tiny little bag in the store!

Happy Memorial Day!

I thought I would show you that no matter what you "northerners" say, us red necks here in Davidson County, NC can still be patriotic on Memorial Day! No, unfortunately this is not in front of our house. I didn't think of it first. =( Maybe next year I can think of something better. I am thinking a flag on the chicken coop???

This is how he sits when he eats. Those cute little feet crossed make me smile. This is perhaps the only time of day when he is awake that they are not on the move.

He loves hummus and carrots.

Yum!

This is the wedding cake I did for Whitney and her husband Thomas.

This was the baby shower cake and cupcakes I did for her the next day.

This is her diaper cake.

Miss you! Happy Memorial Day. We are very thankful for you!

This is Avery hiding from Coleman...

This was her favorite spot in the house... until Coleman figured it out. Now she is on the lookout for another hiding spot!

Yes, that would be asparagus and potatoes on his head. Crazy child...

There are no words...

He LOVES it in here...

Last night Avery was trying to jump on the bed and he was trying to get in her crate... this is a crazy world we live in with these two!

She also likes to sit in Coleman's toy race track. When you pull the red lever on the front the bowl that she is sitting in spins around. She hit it with her nose the other day and she must have jumped 3 feet into the air. It kind of reminded me of when Jules thought you were Dad on the sofa and she snuggled up close to you and then realized what a deadly mistake that was...

This picture makes me laugh for so many reasons. DON'T worry! The mower was not running. Coleman loves to sit on the mower with Ryan and he has to put on his headphones and listen to the music. Which of course smashes his cute little face...

More cake pictures. This was one I did for a 3 year old Princess Pool Party. Her dad LOVED it... I can't wait to hear if she did as well!

We all love and miss you! We are VERY proud of you! Gah.... did I just say that???? I am working on some stuff for a baby shower and I am painting these wooden pieces. Must be these paint fumes getting to me...
